The Ellis on Peachtree: A Link between the Past and the Present

Wednesday Dec 16, 2009

The Ellis on Peachtree combines the elements of traditional Southern charm and stylish modern technology to provide guests with an experience that they are sure to remember.

The hotel has 127 guest rooms, which is considerably less than other hotels and lodging chains. This allows for much more intimate and personal service. The furnishings are both sleek and homey. Guests experience true Southern comfort amid sophisticated design. Original design touches from historic Atlanta can be seen alongside modern elements and a cosmopolitan setting. The rooms showcase distinct components such as ostrich headboards, natural lighting, and bamboo paneling. Their bathrooms are impressive as well, with granite countertops and white limestone floors and walls. All the rooms include a docking station for iPods; a 32” high-definition LCD television; high-speed Internet; pillow-top mattresses and a choice of feather or foam pillows; and a mini bar containing different kinds of beverages, snacks, and specialty items.

Aside from the guest rooms, guests may also choose to occupy the executive suite with a parlor area, or one of the twelve junior suites that include a living area with a sofa bed. The hotel also has a Women Only Floor. The entrance to this floor is very secure. The amenities provided in the rooms in this floor are those that are more suited to a female’s needs. These include curling and straightening irons, and comfortable slippers.

Guests may choose to dine inside their own rooms, or in the on-site restaurant. The restaurant is situated at a balcony overlooking Peachtree Street. They serve traditional American dishes using heirloom recipes. They use all-natural and organic ingredients to achieve a pure and simple taste. They cooperate with local and regional artisans, farmers, and fishermen to provide them with these ingredients, while at the same time raising awareness for a higher degree of food culture sustainability. They also wish to establish a solid sense of community by providing good food from farm to table to their hotel guests and their local customers.

Aside from the restaurant, the Ellis on Peachtree also has a lounge where guests can go to relax and have drinks after dinner. The lounge serves cocktails and other drinks.

The Ellis on Peachtree allows guests to feel at home, even in the middle of the city. It feels more like a nineteenth-century row house instead of a hotel. It allows them to experience the culture of Atlanta’s history, while providing the ease and comfort of modern luxury.
